Joanne advises on Compliance and regulatory processes in the UK Gambling market. She was a time served Commercial Operator with Mecca Bingo, was one of the first hires for the new UK Gambling Commission when it launched in 2007, and she now runs her own advisory business focussed on all aspects of UK based gambling.

Joanne has 30 years industry experience, initially as a General Manager for Mecca Bingo, then as a Compliance Manager for the Gambling Commission and latterly as an Independent Compliance Management Consultant.

Joanne has the unique advantage of seeing compliance from both the Regulatory and Operational perspectives and is able to apply this to absorbing Compliance solutions into business as usual. She has applied this approach into the work she has carried out in her five years as an independent consultant for businesses in the UK AGC, Machine supply, Bingo, Casino and Lottery sectors and has provided training to these sectors also.

Joanne has guided start-ups through the complexity of the Gambling Commission Licensing process, and Local Authority Premise Licences; she has rescued businesses that have found themselves subject to Gambling Commission Regulatory action and supported established businesses to refine their Policies and Procedures to bring them up to standard.

Joanne has a Masters in Management, a degree in Business and a BTEC Level 7 in Investigative practice; as well as holding a PML for all of the sectors and a Personal Licence for the provision of Alcohol. She is a member of the Bingo Association Standing Compliance Committee and is currently chair of Bacta in the North West.
